Publishing of “Formative assessment for teaching and learning” book

CICED supported publishing of the “Formative Assessment for teaching and learning”. The publication of the book can be attributed to significant events in the application and implementation of the ideas of formative assessment in Russia and the post-Soviet space. The authors of the book, the founders of the ideas of formative assessment with a worldwide reputation, consider in detail in the book the application of methods and practices of formative assessment in educational activities, offer their own approaches for working in the classroom, give recommendations to teachers, considering the experience of implementing educational projects in Russia and the CIS countries.

The availability of the book in Russian will support the efforts that specialists are making to introduce the ideas of formative assessment both in Russia and in other countries participating in the READ program. At the same time, the publication is the main manual within the framework of the interuniversity training course on formative assessment, which will take a place simultaneously based on three universities – Moscow City University (Russia), Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences named after V. Ya. Bryusov (Armenia) and Kyrgyz State University named after. I. Arabaeva (Kyrgyzstan). The course is planned to be conducted within the framework of the READ Program.

Copies of the book were donated to the World Bank office in Yerevan, the Center for Educational Quality Assessment under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the library of the Higher School of Economics, the library of the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences, and other organizations.
