The Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) has become an integral part of the spring and annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, providing an open space for civil society organizations to dialogue and exchange views with the World Bank Group and IMF staff, their peers, government delegations, and others. stakeholders on a wide range of topics.

CICED applied to participate in forum events on the topics of strengthening cooperation in Europe and Central Asia in order to quickly restore education systems after the global pandemic. The objectives of the event were the following:

  • to showcase and discuss methodologies of education quality assessment applied in low-income countries and how they can be used to assess educational losses caused by COVID-19;
  • to provide methodological and technical support for sustainable pandemic recovery to the most affected educational systems;
  • to reflect on practical aspects of building collaboration to assess education quality in low- and middle-income countries.

During the session, educational specialists of Europe and Central Asia will discuss (1) solutions for the issue of absence of regular education monitoring that lead to the lack of reliable data, affect assessment of the educational losses during COVID-19, and hold back the implementation of recovery strategies; (2) re-shaping educational assessment after COVID-19 which damaged the most vulnerable educational systems in low- and middle-income countries; (3) building capacities of stakeholders through “learning by doing” approach and good practices in order to achieve the 4th goal of SDG2030 Agenda.
